JOGGERNUTTS TACKLE DONEGAL HALF-MARATHON
Some of the members of the Joggernutts group and friends that took part in the Magee 1866 Wild
Atlantic Way Half-Marathon at Glencolmcille, Co Donegal, last weekend. The group which
encompassed runners, joggers, walkers and even a group of cheerleaders, were treated to a great
weekend in Donegal, with a full calendar of activities organised for the weekend. The event, which
saw a large contingent of Monaghan athletes taking part, was considered by many to one of the
toughest courses undertaken, but all of the Monaghan competitors completed the event without
complaint.
The group, which is primarily an Over-50’s group, welcomed a number of members from clubs
throughout Monaghan and was a weekend of camaraderie, with a trip up Sliabh Liag Cliffs on
Monday morning, before their return via Killybegs. ©Rory Geary/The Northern Standard
