— Campbell secures commitment from contractors to facilitate Muckno Mania

At the outset of Tuesday morning’s Carrickmacross/ Castleblayney Municipal District meeting, Cllr. Aidan Campbell asked Monaghan County Council’s Director of Services, Paul Clifford, if there was any further update on the Market House, Castleblayney, in addition to the report which had been given to the meeting of the full Local Authority the previous day.

Mr. Clifford said that the report given to all 18 elected members the previous day by Chief Executive Eamonn O’Sullivan was the latest information available. However, he did add that the contractors would facilitate the upcoming Muckno Mania parade and festival. Cllr. Campbell welcomed the news. The aforementioned statement, that was given to both the County Council and Municipal District, read as follows: “Following a mini tender competition, Monaghan Co. Council appointed Hegarty Contractors on 13th May to carry proposed stabilisation works to the Courthouse (Market House) building.
