THe old meeting hall was probably a wee bit chillier than might have been expected for the time of year — Rev David Nesbitt even apologised for the weather’s lack of cooperation on this count! — but we were only a few bars into the opening song when it became clear that the historic Cahans building would be filled with a different kind of warmth over the next hour and a half or so.

And it wasn’t long before the smallish but cheerful attendance and performers alike where enjoined in verses of praise set to Celtic melodies arranged by Kiran Young Wimberly and three of the musical McGrath family from Dungannon. For anyone, like this writer, that has a certain affinity with traditional airs, their presentation as a vehicle for hymnal verse is made all the more interesting…
