HARROWING VICTIM IMPACT READ OUT IN COURT BY GRAHAM TOBIN’S DISTRAUGHT WIDOW

SENTENCING was deferred at Monaghan Circuit Criminal Court yesterday (Wednesday) after harrowing evidence, including victim impact statements, was heard in the case of a 27-year-old Castleblayney man who pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of a popular chef and father of four in a “single-punch” incident that occurred at the home of the defendant.

Francis Hughes of 30 Sruth an Iuir, Oram Castleblayney had admitted that he punched Graham Tobin at that address at about 6am on the morning of Sunday 7th October of last year, after those attending a party at the house had been watching a live broadcast of a Conor McGregor fight in Las Vegas.
