Cllr Sean Gilliland said he wanted people to feel safe in their homes and content in the community. “That’s a big commitment of mine,” he said. “I want to see those communities and their facilities made better,” he said. He said he had polled well in the core areas of Doohamlet, Aughnamullen, Latton, Cremartin and Ballybay.

He wanted to see those communities survive and be successful, as well as being secure. RICHARD TRUELL (FG) Richard Truell who had been co-opted to the County Council last October to replace Eva Humphreys first of all commiserated with Rosie Smyth O’Harte of Sinn Féin for what he said had been a good fight. Only for her intervention, then the successful candidates would not be standing there. He was sure that she would be back to contest another election.
