FATE OF CASTLEBLAYNEY’S MARKET HOUSE HANGS IN BALANCE

There was a lengthy debate at Monday’s meeting of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney Municipal District meeting in the Civic Offices, Carrickmacross on the future of the historic but now derelict Market House in Castleblayney. Councillor Aidan Campbell raised the issue during the discussion of matters arising from the previous meeting.

He asked for a briefing on the current state of play with regard to the Market House, relaying the concerns of residents and retailers, including the shortage of parking, noting that the area had been fenced-off since January.
