HARD-HITTING, SOBERING FACTS DELIVERED AT TY ROAD SAFETY EVENT

The Road Safety Day for Transition Year students took place in the Garage Theatre, Monaghan Town, on Tuesday, March 12th. The event was organised by the Roads Policing Unit of An Garda Síochána in collaboration with Monaghan County Council; Monaghan Fire Service; the Health Service Executive; the National Ambulance Service; Mr. Padraig Ward, Undertaker; Ted Brennan Motors and Northern Sound.

The roadshow was the first of two events of this kind for 2019. It is estimated that this initiative has been delivered to 3000 students in Co. Monaghan since its conception in 2014. Aaron McElroy, Northern Sound broadcast journalist, acted as MC on the occasion.
