COUNCILLORS QUERY ABSENCE OF IRISH WATER REPRESENTATIVE AT BALLYBAY MD MEETING

Concern was raised about the non presence of a representative from Irish Water at the February meeting of Ballybay Clones Municipal District in Clones. Cllr Seamus Coyle (Fianna Fáil) asked if the executive had received any update to a request made at a previous meeting for someone from the utility to come and address them on the problem of discoloured water in Ballybay that residents and businesses had been complaining about.

At the November meeting of Monaghan County Council Councillor Coyle spoke about the matter and produced photographs to illustrate his point about brown water coming out of Kilkitt to Ballybay and the surrounding area. District co-ordinator Kevin McNally said he had no update as the MD had received no response yet from Irish Water after the executive had been asked by members…
