“A BIG MAN IN STATURE AND IN HEART” – CO COUNCILLORS PAY FOND TRIBUTE TO THE LATE SEYMOUR CRAWFORD

“He was a big man in stature and in heart,” stated Cathaoirleach of Monaghan Co Council David Maxwell on Monday when leading the local authority’s tributes to their former member, the late Fine Gael TD for Cavan/Monaghan Seymour Crawford who passed away on Saturday October 20 last at the age of 74.

The former Deputy Crawford served as a member of the Co Council from 1991 to 2003 and the Council adjourned their monthly meeting on Monday for five minutes as a mark of respect after observing a minute’s silence. Prior to the adjournment, the Cathaoirleach recalled Seymour’s Co Council tenure and noted that he was elected to Dáil Éireann in 1992 and held his seat until his retirement in 2011. Councillor Maxwell noted that Seymour was the man who got him involved in politics in early 2003 when he asked him to stand for Fine….
