The body of a Polish man in his late 30s was found at the Peter’s Lake park in Monaghan Town on Thursday morning last. Garda said that they were not treating the death of the man, who was named as Krzysztof Ciesielski, as suspicious.

Members of the local Polish community placed floral and other tributes at the park after news of Mr Ciesielski’s death became known. A post mortem was carried out at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Co Louth.

The deceased had lived in the town for a number of years and had worked as a factory operative before becoming unemployed.
