MINISTER HUMPHREYS CHAMPIONS “BREXIT BUDGET”

The measures contained in Tuesday’s Budget 2019 to make provision for the possible impact on the Irish economy and the Border region in particular of the UK’s Brexit departure from the European Union have been extolled by Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys TD.

In what was her first Budget in charge of the Business portfolio, Minister Humphreys said that a chief focus of hers had been to ensure that businesses, particularly those in the Border region, were protected and supported through the challenges of Brexit. “That is why I have increased the budget for InterTrade Ireland by €1 million,” Deputy Humphreys stated. “This represents an almost 20% increase in their budget and will enable the agency to work with and support..
