Emyvale captain Daniel McMahon put on an exhibition of point scoring as a sharper, more clinical Emyvale deservedly clinched the Universal Graphics Monaghan Junior football championship title and with something to spare over an out of sorts Cremartin in Scotstown on Sunday afternoon last. McMahon finished with nine points to his credit, six from frees, some of which were simply superb on a day when a difficult breeze made shooting that bit more risky but the Emyvale talisman simply made it look easy as he stroked over points from a range of distances and angles that the opposition just could not match.

McMahon’s points scoring though was just one example of Emyvale’s superiority on the day as they were well organised and disciplined in defence, combative and creative in midfield where the work….
