Scotstown seek hat-trick of blue riband triumphs!


After the euphoria which engulfed Monaghan’s push for a place in the All-Ireland SFC final, it’s back to basics this weekend for the club seniors. We’ll have a double header in Scotstown on Saturday afternoon with Monaghan Harps v Truagh and Clontibret v Latton, followed by the meeting of Castleblayney and Inniskeen in Aughnamullen on Sunday at 2:30pm and then a double bill in Clontibret later on Sunday afternoon, Ballybay v Magheracloone at 4:30pm, with reigning champions Scotstown, taking on Carrickmacross at 6:15pm.

There’s no doubt what is the tie of the round with reigning champions Scotstown taking on intermediate double winners in 2017, Carrickmacross. If league form is anything to go by, Carrickmacross have the better credentials, in that they are on top in the senior football league. For Scotstown Conor McCarthy top scored in the senior championship last year with 4-19 and they have other good finishers in the likes of Shane Carey, Darren Hughes, Kieran…
