The half-time whistle can sometimes come at the wrong time. For the chasing team, full-time always comes at the wrong time. And that was the case last Sunday at Croke Park when Monaghan had the momentum and were urgently winning their game of catch-up against Tyrone when match referee Anthony Nolan (Wicklow) called a halt to proceedings in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final just three minutes after the requisite 70 minutes had passed.
