The need to ensure additional and ongoing investment at the Monaghan Institute further education and training facility in order to maintain the important role it had come to play as an engine of growth for the local economy was a point strongly emphasised by Councillor P J O’Hanlon during a discussion at last week’s meeting of Monaghan Co Council.

The Fianna Fáil local public representative advocated a parity of esteem approach between the Monaghan and Cavan counties that fall under the remit of the Education and Training Board, emphasising the importance of Co Monaghan getting a proportionate share of funding made available for the provision of workplace training….
