Minister Shane Ross has given a commitment to Senator Robbie Gallagher that he will visit Monaghan to see the roads for himself, Monday morning’s meeting of Carrickmacross/ Castleblayney Municipal District heard, when five elected members from the area met with Oireachtas members on the issue of roads. Apologies were received from Minister Heather Humphreys, who had other commitments. There was widespread and scathing criticism of the Minister’s failure to attend.
