Monaghan County Councillors have called on the Minister for Communications Denis Naughten TD to stop all procurement and tender processes surrounding the controversial North South Interconnector project, in the wake of a High Court ruling in Northern Ireland. A judge found that in the absence of a Minister owing to the collapse of devolution, a senior civil servant did not have the power to give planning permission to an incinerator plant.
