A more resilient and a more experienced Monaghan ultimately proved too potent for an under strength Donegal in this entertaining National Football League Division 1 contest that was played in bitterly cold conditions in front of a crowd of some 4,680 hardy souls in Clones on Sunday afternoon last.
It is a result that ensures Monaghan’s position in division 1 for next season, but it is a result too that consigns Donegal to a relegation dogfight against Mayo in McCumhaill Park, Ballybofey, next Sunday.
