The exact number of border crossings between the Republic including Co. Monaghan and Northern Ireland is being examined in a joint exercise by civil servants from both jurisdictions. As discussions continue on the arrangements that will be needed following British withdrawal from the EU, it emerged this week that Dublin and Belfast were working together to map out for the first time the number of border crossings on the island.
