INITIATIVE TO HAVE MORE MONAGHAN WOMEN AVAIL OF FREE CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING

A new initiative is underway to encourage more Co Monaghan women to avail of the free national screening service for cervical cancer. Monaghan was one of the five counties in Ireland with the lowest uptake for cervical screening, the HSE pointed out this week.

On Saturday, an awarenessraising campaign was launched in Monaghan Town by Cavan/Monaghan Fine Gael TD and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys, who called on women aged between 25 and 60 in the county to mark the current Cervical Cancer Prevention Week by registering for free screening.
