‘SHOCKING HEALTH SERVICE CRISIS’ HITS CO. MONAGHAN

A WORSENING crisis in the health service which, apart from many patients from all over Co. Monaghan being placed in trolleys, instead of hospital beds, in Cavan, and Drogheda, and an escalating increase in the exit of doctors and nurses from the area, leading to an unacceptable increased pressure on the Doctor-on-Call service, has led to a public call this week by South Monaghan Sinn Fein councillor Colm Carthy to the HSE and to Health Minister Simon Harris T.D., to take immediate action to remedy the present “shocking’ situation in the region.

The Carrick-based councillor’s call comes as a Private Members’ Bill was being moved in the Dail by Sinn Fein this week, to get immediate action to remedy current health service…
