RISING CRIME AND REDUCED GARDA NUMBERS GENERATING CONCERN IN CLONES

“The Garda numbers in Clones at present are a grave concern to me,” Garda Superintendent Noel Cunningham told last week’s meeting of the Co Monaghan Joint Policing Committee.

Anxiety among the Clones population about reductions in Garda numbers at a time when there appeared to be an increase in burglaries in the location was voiced at a recent public meeting in the town, Sinn Féin member of Monaghan Co Council Pat Treanor pointed out.
