AN AMAZING historic discovery has been made in London by a Castleblayney man in the unearthing of four prized medals won by a famous Co. Monaghan man almost 110 years ago, including a 1908 Olympic Games’ medal.

The medals had turned up for sale in a London auction centre, where they were acquired by popular Castleblayney native Mr. Tommy McGuire, who, ironically, was researching the illustrious medal winner’s story. The four medals were won by the late John….
