MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING DEATH OF WOMEN IN COLLISION ON MONAGHAN/BALLYBAY ROAD

A WOMAN of eastern European nationality lost her life following a collision last Saturday evening between the car in which she was a front-seat passenger and a jeep-type vehicle that was coming in the opposite direction.

The incident also led to the arrest of a 44-year-old man of Spanish nationality, who was charged with dangerous driving causing death when taken before Monday’s sitting of Monaghan District Court.

The accident occurred at around 4.45pm at Feragh, on the Monaghan-Ballybay road, a Garda source has confirmed. The Citroen C3 in which the deceased, who was in her early 60s, was travelling had been heading in the Ballybay…
