PROGRESS ON HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL PROJECT WELCOMED BY LOCAL DÁIL REPRESENTATIVES

Contractors are now being identified to start the tender process for the long-awaited major building project at Cootehill’s Holy Family School, which caters for pupils in Cavan and Monaghan across the full spectrum of learning disability and for pupils with autism.

Confirmation of a degree of progress towards the realisation of the project was given in response to Parliamentary Questions submitted by Fianna Fáil Deputies from Cavan/Monaghan Brendan Smith and Niamh Smyth, and was welcomed by them and by their constituency colleague Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys TD of Fine Gael.

Minister Bruton informed the Deputies that the Stage 2(b) Detailed Design Report for the major building project had been reviewed by his Dept and comments on the report were issued to the Holy Family Board of Management in July. “A response to these comments is awaited from the Board of Management and its….
