ANTI PYLON GROUPS SEND CLEAR MESSAGE TO EU COMMISSION OVER INTERCONNECTOR PLAN

Anti-pylon groups from Monaghan and four other counties affected by the proposed North-South electricity interconnector have told the European Commission undergrounding is the only way forward and that the proposal for an overhead line is “dead”.
They also heard representatives of the Belgian electricity grid operator explain that public consultation and acceptance for such large scale infrastructure projects is their number one priority and without it they would not proceed.
