The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final stage once again proved a hurdle too high for Monaghan, who were no match for Dublin at a sold-out Croke Park last Saturday.
All-Ireland champions Dublin are determined to make it three in a row for the first time since 1921 to 1923 and they snuffed Monaghan out early on to get on their way to what will be an eighth consecutive semi-final appearance.
There was a sense of déjà vu for Monaghan on Saturday, not only as it was a fifth quarter-final defeat and a fourth in the last five years, but also in the manner of how Dublin put them to the sword. Monaghan did manage to close the gap from 2014’s last-eight clash with ….
