N2 SAFETY TOPS MUNICIPAL DISTRICT AGENDA AGAIN AFTER ANOTHER FATAL ACCIDENT

The N2 was once again in the spotlight in the aftermath of another fatal accident on the busy road. The incident occurred on Friday, 21st July shortly before 1am. Three vehicles were involved in the collision at Aclint Bridge between Ardee and Carrickmacross. Three Donegal women, Margaret McGonagle, her daughter Mairead Mundy and her friend Racheal Battles, were all killed. Two others were also seriously injured.

The tragedy was discussed at the outset of the July meeting of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney Municipal District, which took place on Monday afternoon in Carrickmacross Civic Offices.
