It is often said that revenge is a dish best served cold and that is exactly the frame of mind that Monaghan need to have when they approach Saturday’s game against Down, in a cold calculating frame of mind that can see them wipe away the memories of their bitter Ulster semi final defeat by the Mourne men back at the end of June.
That was a game where Monaghan were literally ambushed and the confined spaces of the Athletic Grounds in Armagh, was the perfect setting for Down’s attritional type approach.
