HORRIFIC CO. MONAGHAN MURDER ECHO AS… SEARCH RESUMES AT CARRICK LAKE FOR VICTIM’S REMAINS

A fresh search was resumed during the week at a South Monaghan lake where it is believed the dismembered remains of a Dublin man who was a convicted rapist, and murdered by his brother, were deposited. The victim was James Nolan, one of whose arms was washed up on Dollymount Strand in Dublin in 2011.

It emerged that Nolan, from Finglas, was strangled to death by his brother, Thomas, who lived for a period in Carrickmacross – before taking his own life in a flat, which he rented in the town.

In a suicide note he claimed he had murdered his brother and dismembered the body, with parts buried in Dublin and in a Carrickmacross lake – understood to be Lough na Glack…
