On Tuesday evening a large delegation of Fine Gael supporters congregated at the Errigal County House Hotel, Cootehill, where paid-up members passed their vote on who they felt should be the next leader of their party.

One of the candidates in the two-Minister race to the top, Minister Leo Varadkar called up for a quick canvass to meet the people who could get him where he wants to go.

There were a lot of constituents wanting to shake his hand and pose for a picture with him, but the candidate took a few minutes out to talk to the local media too.
