GROW OR DIE! – VITAL NEED FOR MONAGHAN TOWN TO DEVELOP STRESSED AT DUBLIN STREET PLAN LAUNCH

There was an urgent need for Monaghan Town to retain and attract shoppers and to increase the “critical mass” of its population or it would suffer a town centre business decline similar to that experienced by Clones.

This message was imparted by Monaghan Co Council’s Director of Services for Economic and Community Development Paul Clifford to traders from the county capital who gathered in the Market House on Monday evening to receive a presentation on an ambitious new regeneration plan for the Dublin Street area and its surrounds.

The plan – which is intended for incorporation into the Monaghan Co Development Plan and as such would have significant implications for future planning applications in its study area – was detailed by Charlotte Sheridan and Kevin….
