CARRICK RESIDENTS OUTRAGED AS ALLOTMENTS ARE VANDALISED

ANGRY residents in Carrickmacross have expressed outrage after prized nursery growth allotments were targeted and extensively damaged in what was described as a blatant weekend attack by vandals.
The well-preserved allotments at Cloughvalley, which were created over five-and-a-half years ago, had floral pallets, fencing smashed and shrubs torn out. Some small trees were also broken during the late-night bout of wanton destruction.
According to the enraged residents, the vandalism occurred overnight, possibly after midnight, and there was widespread shock when the full extent of the damage was subsequently assessed. Gardai were called and an appeal has been issued for….
