SOCCER and Liverpool FC legend Ian Rush hit the net with the punters at Monday’s Shabra Charity Cheltenham Preview in ’Blayney, where there were roars of delight and approval as he stripped his trademark Liverpool jersey to reveal Monaghan’s blue and white underneath!
There was another loud acclamation when he held his arms aloft, again in classic Oliver Brady style, before echoing the big Ballybay man’s “Up Monaghan” — which worked wonders even if it sounded a little different in a Merseyside accent! (See full story on page 10)
