It almost seemed to be that anyone who is anyone belonging to Monaghan GAA either now or in the past were present at the Hillgrove Hotel last Friday night to celebrate a whole host of very talented and selfless gaels drawn from right from across the county.

The Northern Standard/R&S Printers Monaghan GAA Annual Awards night is a popular and prized occasion on the local Gaelic games calendar for a number of years now and the 2017 version proved to be par for the course.
Nostalgia and pride illuminated proceedings in the county town hostelry where a raft of presentations were made to an array of individuals and teams who have distinguished themselves in the world of GAA either in the present time or in the past.

The county’s chief administrators and a cross-section of the Association’s grass roots, including friends and family of the award winners mingled among the large and enthusiastic crowd present on Friday night to witness the presentation of the annual awards and also the county players being presented with their Ulster Under 21 medals.

The presentation of the provincial under 21 medals was performed by the newly appointed Secretary and CEO of the Ulster Council, Brian McAvoy,.
