WAGE INFLATION AND BREXIT POSE RISK AS CO. MONAGHAN SMALL FIRMS CAUTIOUS AS THEY ENTER 2017

SMALL firms throughout Co. Monaghan, and elsewhere in the country, are very cautious as they enter 2017, according to a report presented by the Small Firms’ Association (SFA) earlier this week.

It stated that domestic economic growth offers the biggest opportunities while wage inflation and Brexit are the most serious risks .

It predicts however that almost two-thirds of small firms will recruit in 2017.

According to the report some half of owner-managers feel that the business environment is improving, down from 77% one year ago and 66% in May, with 18% indicating that it is disimproving.
