SPECIAL 1916-THEMED CAKES NOW STOCKED BY ALDI

Éabha Campbell from Carrickroe, the national junior baking competition winner, is celebrating the success of her ‘Muffin of the Moment’, which has gone on sale at 128 Aldi stores throughout the Republic. Éabha is the supermarket company’s youngest supplier at just 16 years of age. A pack containing two of her spiced fruit muffins sells for €1.79 and can be purchased in Carrickmacross, Cavan or Dundalk. The product which is made by West Bake Glenamaddy Ltd in County Galway, was also featured on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show.

In September the Northern Standard reported on Éabha’s win at the national ploughing championships in county Offaly. The teenager, who represented the Truagh Foróige Club in north Monaghan, was crowned the National Junior Baker at the Aldi marquee.
