DONAGHMOYNE HOPE TO BRING SOME CHEER

Donaghmoyne ladies stand poised to win their fifth All-Ireland Ladies SFC title this Sunday but team-manager Francie Coleman says his charges will have to overcome arguably their stiffest challenge since 2006 if they are to hold onto their crown.

The 2016 Monaghan and Ulster champions will face Dublin powerhouse Foxrock/Cabinteely at Parnell Park this Sunday in a final which most pundits reckon could go either way:

“Going for a fifth all-Ireland is a great motivation and carrot for the girls but it’s going to a really tough game, probably the toughest we’ve ever had,” opined Donaghmoyne boss Coleman.

“I would say it’s 50/50 as to how it might go. We beat them on their home ground in the semi-final last year but I think it’ll take an even better display from us to get by them this time around.”

Foxrock-Cabinteely have proven their worth this year in winning back to back county and provincial titles ranks and include players not only from their immediate catchment area but also from counties such as Laois and Kerry.
