Saturday 12th November was a very special day in the calender for the community & children of Scotshouse as it saw the official opening of their long awaited playground. This was officially opened by members of the Ballybay-Clones Municipal District along with Monaghan County players Conor McManus and Catriona McKenna.

This was a project that was more than welcomed by the community and which was made possible by the hard work & determination of the local community & businesses along with the help of the Local authority. The perfect site for the playground, adjacent to the community centre, was kindly donated by Joe Mullholland and Kieran Burn.

Ground works commenced on the preparation works for the new playground which was carried out by Padraig Connolly from Scotshouse Quarries who also donated his time & materials. Special thanks to Eamonn McKenna Scanbiz for his kind donation as well, their kind support was greatly appreciated.

The new playground consists of a number of playground activity units …
