LEADER funding “a good news story” for Co Monaghan

Monaghan LEADER is open for business. That is the message that went out from the launch of the LEADER Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020 which will see almost €7.6 million in funding coming to Co Monaghan over the next four years.

The programme, which aims to promote social inclusion, poverty reduction and economic development, is being delivered by the Local Community Development Committee with the support of Monaghan Integrated Development and Monaghan Co Council. It was launched by Minister for the Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Heather Humphreys, in The Sliabh Beagh Hotel, Knockatallon on Monday evening past.

Five public information evenings on the LEADER programme will be held throughout the county over the next two weeks. The first of these will take place on Monday, 12th September, in Tydavnet village hall at 7.30pm and the second the following night, Tuesday, 13th September, at the same time in The Creighton Hotel, Clones.
