CALL FOR MONAGHAN SCHOOLS TO ENTER ANTI-RACISM COMPETITION

1 April 2016 No Comments by The Northern Standard

Show Racism the Red Card is calling on all schools and youth services in Monaghan to register for the Anti Racism Creative Competition 2016.

The competition – which aims to address racism through education – involves young people developing creative messages about racism and integration, using written, visual and audiovisual means. Show Racism the Red Card is an international, anti-racist, not-forprofit organisation.

Their mission is to challenge racism through providing education resources and intercultural activity which support integration. To get involved in the initiative, schools and youth services can register online. Once registered, ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ will send a DVD education pack to help teach the anti-racism message.

Participants are encouraged to work in groups to develop their anti-racism messages, and applications are then made through their school or youth organisation…
