GAA GPA All-Star Awards

The entertainment industry has the Academy Awards and the BAFTAS when the great and the good are recognised for outstanding performances and achievements in any given year and the GAA equivalent is the Opel sponsored GAA/GPA All Star Awards, the gongs handed out annually to those who are adjudged to have been the outstanding performers in their respective positions.

The 2015 version was unveiled at a lavish function attended by over 1,600 guests in the National Convention Centre, Dublin, on Friday night last when the great and the good assembled in their finery to look back over what had been an outstanding season and see which players picked up the glittering prizes.

The hurling All-Stars had been announced the previous day and they were presented with their awards at a private function earlier and then paraded on stage during the live television presentation of the football awards. The hugely impressive National Convention Centre that had a rental of €70,000 for the occasion, was an ideal setting with it’s huge auditorium the perfect place for what was a very slick television presentation and with that completed it was on to the All …
