AGHABOG ONE OF THE BEST CLUBS IN IRELAND SAYS PARAIC DUFFY

John GrahamArd Stiurthoir Cumann Luthchleas Gael Paraic Duffy described Aghabog club as “one of the best clubs in Ireland” in his address to the guests at their 125 Banquet in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan on Saturday night last.

Following a sumptuous meal and words of welcome from Club Chairman Tony McGorman, Paraic Duffy, in getting the formalities under way, spoke of the spirit that there is in the club and the dedication they have shown in building a club that is a prime example of what a GAA Club should be and should stand for, a club at the heart of the community, yes, but more than that in Aghabog’s case as the Aghabog club is the community.

He went on to pay tribute to those who have worked diligently for the club over the years and recalled a cold winter’s night back in the 1980’s when he attended a meeting that was held in one of the original dressing rooms to discuss club development and the enthusiasm that there was among those present to absorb the suggestions and to learn.

He spoke of his admiration for the Aghabog club and the manner in which they conduct their business and ….
