A high level of interest is already being anticipated in the 8th Annual Novena in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes taking place at Cuan Mhuire, Ballybay from Friday, August 7 to Saturday, August 15 next.

The event has become firmly established as a source of spiritual solace and spiritual renewal for many people from all walks of life.

Priests from all over Ireland will participate in this year’s event.

One of the anticipated highlights is the talk on forgiveness to be delivered by guest speaker Con Diver on Sunday, August 9.

On Monday, August 10 the Catholic lay healer Eddie Stones will be in attendance at a special Healing Mass.

Custodian along with his wife Lucy of the Emmanuel House of Providence in Clonfert, Co Galway, Eddie has practised his ministry of healing for over twenty years and has helped many people achieve ease from ailments, worries and troubles. He has previously been a very welcome participant in the activities of the annual Novena.

“Courage for the journey” is the theme of the address scheduled for Friday evening, August 14, a message with wide application for those who avail of Cuan Mhuire’s resources for healing and recovery as well as those seeking inspiration and guidance on their own personal path towards spiritual fulfilment.

On Saturday, August 15, the closing night of the Novena, well-known Ballybay man, Deacon Stephen Duffy will deliver the homily at the evening Mass.

Events begin on each night of the Novena at 7.15 pm with the Rosary. Those attending are respectfully requested to come early each evening and to obey the car-park attendants’ instructions.

Supper will be served after Mass each night.

A Holy Hour will be held on Saturday, August 8 from 11-noon and will continue each day of the Novena from then until Saturday, August 15.
