All fairways lead to Rossmore Golf Club on Friday next, July 3rd, for the annual Northern Standard U18 County Monaghan Golf Championship.

In what is now one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind in the country, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever with the finest young teenage golfing talent set to tackle Rossmore for the right to be crowned the 2015 champion.

“We’re all looking forward to an excellent day’s golfing and with the weather looking good for Friday, there should be some impressive scores posted,” Northern Standard Sports Editor Patrick Smyth enthused.

“If the last couple of years are anything to go by, this year’s competition should be another closely run thing and it would take a brave man to pin-point a possible winner but that just makes it all the more interesting and exciting.

“Hopefully, all the players will be well supported on the day and that the clubs they represent will come out in force and cheer them on.”

The crème de la crème of under 18 golfers from not only county Monaghan but also from neighbouring counties, Cavan, Fermanagh and Armagh will lock horns along with visitors from as far away as Dublin.

The runners and riders are no doubt putting (no pun intended) the finishing touches to their game ahead of teeing off this Friday with young James….
