GARDA QUIZZED AFTER N2 COLLISION

THE Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission is investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash near Monaghan town at the weekend which involved three vehicles, including a garda car, and left three people hospitalised.
The crash occurred on the main Dublin/Derry N2 between Monaghan town and Castleblayney, at Moyles, Castleshane, when, it was reported, a garda vehicle had pulled over to assist a car which had broken down, and was hit by another car.
It is understood an off-duty garda was questioned following the collision and the incident was referred to the GSOC. A GSOC investigation has been undertaken.
