“FARNEY CHALLENGE” EVENT SET TO TEE OFF ON JUNE 4TH

You can’t say we didn’t warn y’all. Last month in this parish we ran with a trailer for the upcoming Farney Golf Challenge and reminded all-comers about what the wise owls say about the early bird(y) and all that.

Well folks the worm is about turn. In fact, with over 100 already signed up to play in next June’s event, time is running out for everyone else to get their names on the teamsheet.

The event is limited to the first 180 golfers. The opening day of the Challenge will take place at Concra Wood on Thursday, June 4th with the second day out at Mannan Castle on Friday, June 5th and the final day at Rossmore on Saturday, June 6th when the prize giving ceremony will take place.

Places look like filling up from here on as quickly as spaces on O’Connell Street on Paddy’s Day so time to get moving if you want to Challenge yourself on three of the finest golf courses this side of the Mississipi AND compete for prizes to the total value of a mouth-watering 3,000 euro.

The Farney Challenge is an event spawned from the loins of Rossmore Golf Club.

Current Rossmore Captain Donal Guckian and John Heffernan (Handicap Secretary) are delighted with the response to date from golfers near and far:
