LOCAL MEP IN LAUNCH OF EU FUNDING GUIDE FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS

LOCAL Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy was joined by a Municipal authority party colleague for the Carrickmacross/Castleblayney area, Cllr. Noel Keelan, and another Sinn Fein council colleague for the Bailieborough/Cootehill area, Cllr., Paddy McDonald, at the launch in Brussels last week of a new booklet, titled “Gateway to EU Funding”—which is a very informative guide for community groups interested in acquiring funds from the European Union.

The booklet, which is described as a brief guide to EU funding in Ireland 2014 – 2020” was prepared and compiled by the office of Matt Carthy MEP and sets out the various types of EU funding available, and how to apply.

Speaking at the launch, thr Sinn Féin MEP Mr. Carthy stated: “Having worked as an elected representative for over fifteen years, as town and county councillor and now in my role as MEP, I am very much aware of the importance of investing in our local communities.

“Over the years, I have liaised with countless organisations and community groups in order to help secure funding for various community projects”.
