THREE HIGH-VALUE JEEPS STOLEN FROM HOUSE A FEW MILES FROM BALLYBAY

GARDAI have confirmed that three high-value jeeps were stolen from one house a few miles from Ballybay in the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday) morning, and that one of these vehicles was later found burned out about a quarter of a mile away following a road accident.

Two Toyota Hilux pickup jeeps and a Kia SUV were taken from the house, on a minor road between Ballybay and Rockcorry, about three or four miles outside Ballybay after the keys of the vehicles were stolen from the residence.

The incident happened at about 1am yesterday morning. It is believed that the perpetrators travelled to the scene in a black Toyota Land Cruiser that was itself stolen from the Castleblayney area last November.

This vehicle, which gardai believe to have been used in a number of similar creeper burglary thefts, was one of the two vehicles found burned out after the subsequent crash at a bend in the townland of Edenaneane.
