SCHOOLCHILDREN AND PERSON WITH DISABILITY WERE CAUGHT IN A LIFT

ATTEMPTS to prevent a court-approved receiver from taking ownership of a property in the Milltown Business Park, Monaghan resulted in a group of school children and a disabled person getting trapped in a lift in two separate incidents, the January hearings of Monaghan Circuit Civil Court were told.

In an application made on behalf of the receivers, James Meagher and Adrian Truiek, against named respondents PJ (Patrick Joseph) Woods, Killyconnigan, Monaghan and his bother Danny Woods, now living in Australia, Judge John O’Hagan was told that assistance had to be obtained to release a group of schoolchildren who were trapped in the lift while visiting Northern Sound Radio (a tenant of the property) on Friday 14th November last.

The court was also told that on Thursday 27th November, less than two weeks later, a young man with a disability and his special needs assistant were trapped in the same lift for over 90 minutes, in an …
